Job : Maintenance manager JD-code : Group : Chemicals DD-code : Loc./BU : Ningbo, Functional Chemicals F-column : SubBU : Ethylene amines Dept. : Maintenance By : Sub Dept. : Date : 2008 Organisatorial context: Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals’ sBU Ethylene amines (EA) are constructing a grass root plant in Ningbo, China. The plants will be located at the 50 hectares, newly Akzo Nobel multi-site placed on the Ningbo Chemical Industrial Zone. The EA plant consists of Ethylene oxide, Ethanolamine and Ethylene amine processes. Akzo Nobel Functional Chemicals is a world leader in the production of ethylene amines and ethanolamines. Although the chemistry and processes required for the manufacture of these products are complicated, the reason for our success can be expressed in simple terms: know-how and the ability to listen to our customers. Today we have two productions sites of these products, Sweden and Germany We serve customers throughout the world with ethylene amines and ethanolamines, which are key building blocks for the manufacture of everything from chelating agents, fungicides, detergents, paints, adhesives, asphalt additives and cutting fluids to cosmetics, tissue paper, soaps, textile and fabric softeners, and pharmaceuticals. Production is subject to the most stringent quality and environmental controls. We are, of course, certified in accordance with ISO 9001 (Quality Assurance) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management). In September 2006 we received our Energy Management System Certificate for Sweden Job purpose: Contribute to the strategic policy of the EA plant through maintenance support and advice through engineering changes & reliability engineering, scrutinize both quality and reliability of technical installations en buildings at the plants premises. Additionally execution and planning of projects. Position in the organization: Manager (reporting) : Plant manager. Staff : Five Other organisatorial relations : Close collaboration with maintenance department of the Multisite. Products Activities and responsibilities CSU Prepare maintenance infrastructure together with the Maintenance dep. and Multisite: Storage of spare equipment. Responsible for preparing of SOP and maintenance protocols. Create FMEA methodology for monitoring plant performance and improvement projects. QHSE Ensures that all activities employed are according local and AN QHSE standards. Takes part in QHSE audits. Operation Being responsible for safety, environment and personnel in the department. Being responsible for development and efficiency in project and maintenance work. projects, as well as contacts with external suppliers of maintenance and project services. Being responsible for overall budgeting and monitoring of maintenance and investment projects. Being responsible for the definition and costing of major investment projects. Establishing the basic documentation for investments for RF's and TOP's. Developing the maintenance skills of the operating and loading personnel in collaboration with the PQC Manager and Loading Manager. Maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance activities. Analyse maintenance efforts and results (MTBF, etc) root cause analysis, and initiate corrective and proactive improvement projects. Lead FMEA teams. Qualifications: The Maintenance Manager should have either a university or a college degree in preferably Mechanical Engineering. The Maintenance manager should have 5-10 years of relevant working experience in the chemical industry with a non-Chinese employer. The Maintenance Manager should possess leadership skills, basic computer skills, proven work knowledge regarding QHSE issues, project management, budgeting, production organization and planning. He/She should be a self-starter, proactive, and result oriented. Furthermore strong work ethic, analytical skills, good organizational skills, Knowledge regarding ERP (SAP) systems is an advantage.. Social skills: Contacts - Excellent interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain good working relationships and work productively with others in a team environment. - Be team player. Communication skills - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skill in both English and Chinese and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. - Clear reporting skills.
